Here's mine, whenever I watch a clip of Lee Know (my bias in skz), I often see comments like, "How can people think he's mean?!" or "I can't believe they call him rude." These comments, intended to be supportive, can get thousands of likes, even if they sometimes sound backhanded.
I'm not sure why his displays of kindness or affection prompt such reactions. Based on what I've observed, people outside the fandom don't perceive Lee Know as these comments suggest, in fact he rarely receives hate, even from those who don't appreciate the group. So, claiming that his supposed "antis" view him as unkind is not true.
It's insame how an innocuous comment he received during one of his earlier interactions with fans has been taken entirely out of context. In this interaction, fans jokingly told him to "quit being mean" when he teased them, to which he responded by pretending to be offended. This has somehow transformed into a widespread narrative that people think he's rude and mean. Fans began spreading this story across various platforms, notably TikTok, and more of those comments started to pop everywhere to counter the so-called "antis". Ironically, it is the fans themselves who perpetuate it.
Lee Know is an incredibly kind idol and it's truly unfair that an image contrary to his character has stuck with him due to a misconception.
This got me thinking about other idols who might have faced similar situations where certain misconceptions about them are overly emphasized or a single trait or joke among fans is overused and ends up doing more harm than good. I thought it would be interesting to discuss.
